Last weekdays for Six Flags

We spent a couple days at Six Flags last week to take advantage of the last weekdays for them to be open. They are open next weekend and weekends in October for fright fest, but with all the kids back in school - it wasn't crowded at all. My dad and I got to ride a few big rides while Grandma watched the girls, and I got to get Ella on the Whizzer one last time this year without waiting in a big line (giving her lots of time to chicken out.) Ella loves the little teacups in Wiggles World so much that she got really excited when she saw these "giant" teacups.

We spend most of our time hanging out in Wiggles World. Holly gets to do lots of stuff there. Especially her new favorite thing... the slides.

The Bugs Bunny kids' area is great for Ella. She can get in and out of all the rides by herself and has a lot of fun. Holly tried the ladybugs earlier this summer, but didn't have a great time. I think we'll try them again next summer.

I was a little nervous, but let Ella take Holly on the bumblebees. Even though they go up in the air, they don't jerk the kids around like the ladybugs. It's a pretty smooth ride. Ella spends the whole time up as high as she can make the bee go, but Holly didn't seem to mind looking around.

Bzzzzzzzz

Grandma took the girls on the Big, Red, Planes so I could get some pics of them soaring. Again, Ella makes it fly as high as she can, as long as she can.

Holly got to dance with Mr. 6 while Mommy and Grandpa took Ella on the Whizzer. Thanks for taking some pics, Grandma! And thanks for watching Ella on the Bunny-Go-Round.

Bedtime!

Holly started sleeping in a bed a while back for her naps, but we just recently took out the crib, converted it to a daybed, and put it in Ella's room. Holly does sleep in her bed the majority of the time, but sometimes we find her on the floor surrounded by toys. Ha!

Not quite asleep in that first one, but eventually fell over and passed out.
When she sleeps in her bed she wakes up happy!

But when she sleeps on the floor, she's quite cranky.

Holly's pics from August

Holly loves goofing around in her big sister's room. There's lot of room for somersaults.

Sometimes they're nice to each other and will smile for the camera. Hooray!

"One for me... one for my homie."

Holly loves seeing herself in the camera. I can flip my lens around and take her picture while she watches. Makes for some cute shots and movies...

Ella's pics from August

Ella's getting a lot better at writing her name. The pic on the left is the first time she wrote it. I don't know about the one on the chalkboard. I tried explaining that the smaller letters should be lower, but she didn't like that. :o)

Blackmail bubble bath pics...

Man, there's a lot of hair between the two of them.

5 minutes earlier... "No Mommy, I don't need a nap today."

She loves her games, no matter how she plays them.

I was able to move their table into the kitchen and get my dining room back to a non-daycare look. Well, the easel is in there for now, that will be moving soon. We got a little breakfast table to fill in the spot.

Ella and Holly love the new easel, now if only I can keep Holly from trying to eat the chalk...

Such a goofball.

Don and Sandy's house

Okay, I've been bad about this lately, but I'm trying to catch up. On August 8th, we went to my Uncle Don and Aunt Sandy's house for a family BBQ. Ella and Holly had a lot of fun playing in the sprinkler with Mia and Gabe, my cousin's twins.

Mia and Gabe discovered that if you tilt the sprinkler, you can really soak your sibling. Ella had a lot of fun with this. We let it happen, because Holly kept cracking up and running back for more. Did you see the video of it? Scroll down to the left and visit my Youtube page!

Holly got soaked, but it was really hot that day... kept the kids happy and cool.

We tried getting a good pic of all the kids, but it's hard to keep them still for that long. I wish Holly would have smiled... oh well.
